A Defense of Michael Williams' Theoretical Diagnosis of Skepticism

Public Deposited

In Unnatural Doubts, Michael Williams aims to defeat Cartesian skepticism. This thesis defends Williams' anti-skeptical conclusion, which is the product of what he calls a theoretical diagnosis of skepticism, against an important criticism developed by Stephen Jacobson. Besides the conclusion, it is divided into three parts. The first part presents Williams theoretical diagnosis; the second part formulates Jacobson's objection to it; the third part deflects the objection.
