09 Spanish Youth Occupation by Sex, June 1944

Public Deposited

This graph represents different life paths for Spanish youth. Although the USSR was supposed to promote gender equality, we can see some divergence, particularly in youth going to factory and trade schools. Unfortunately, the data do not break down manufacturing by industry. I would expect, based on anecdotal evidence from other sources, that we would see a much higher percentage of female youth in the textile industry and fewer in industries like mining and construction.
