The Akan Conception of a Person

Public Deposited

Philosophers, theologians, and average people have debated the definition of a person for a long time. This thesis explores the ideas of an ethnic group that has not been adequately explored. The Akan people from southern and central Ghana add an interesting element to the conversation, but this thesis ultimately concludes that their definition does not sufficiently distinguish between humans and non-humans.
