The Prize was created in 2018 when the Waidner-Spahr Library won Credo Reference’s inaugural First Year Experience Library Innovation Award. This prize is funded by Credo Reference, Case Western Reserve University, and the Friends of the Library Endowment fund of Dickinson College.
The Waidner-Spahr Library Prize for Excellence in First Year Research is awarded each spring to a first-year student at Dickinson College who creates an outstanding research project for any class, in any discipline. Winners of this prize effectively use properly cited research material to examine an engaging question.
